Frequently Asked Questions

You can Send Money to any of the following:

1. Your own BDO PHP or USD Savings and Checking Accounts
2. Another person's BDO PHP or Savings Accounts
3. Other local banks and wallets via InstaPay

Reminder: Only same currency tranfers are allowed. (PHP to PHP or USD to USD)

Just follow these steps to Send Money using your account number:

1. Once you're logged in, tap Send Money
2. Choose the transaction type:
     a. Own account - Send to your own BDO account
     b. Any BDO account - Send to another person's BDO account
     c. Other banks and wallets - Send to other local banks and mobile wallets*
3. Fill out the required details, then tap Send
4. Review your details, then tap Confirm to send immediately or Schedule to schedule the transaction later. Scheduled transactions are only available for Send Money to own account. 
5. Confirm your transactions with Face ID/Touch ID/FIngerprint or by entering your 6-digit PIN.
6. You may Save Image or Share the successful transaction confirmation page.

After a payment, you can tap Favorite at the lower right corner of the success screen to save your receiver details. Next time you pay, just select from your favorite receivers so that you don’t need to enter the details anymore.

*Double-check all the details. For these transactions, account number matching is sufficient for the implementation. BDO shall not be responsible for its reliance on account number matching.

Just follow these steps to Send Money via QR:
1. Once you're logged in, tap QR, then Send Money
2. Choose the transaction type: 
     a. [iOS] Upload QR code from Photos / [Android] Upload QR Code from Gallery - Import the QR code from your Photos or Gallery
     b. Scan QR code - Scan the QR code of the destination account
3. Fill out the required details, then tap Send
4. Review your details, then tap Confirm
5. Confirm your transactions with Face ID/Touch ID/Fingerprint or by entering your 6-digit PIN.

You can save the receiver’s details as a favorite to make future Send Money transactions easier. Just follow these steps after sending money:

1. On the success screen of your Send Money to Any BDO Account or Send Money to Other Banks and Wallets transaction, tap Favorite at the lower right corner (beside Save Image and Share) .
2. Enter your preferred Favorite nickname, then tap Save.
3. You will get an acknowledgement when the details are successfully saved to Favorites.
4. On your next transaction, just tap Select From Favorites on the input transaction details screen and choose the receiver's details to Send Money.

To edit the details of your saved Send Money recipient, just follow these steps:

1. Once you're logged in, tap More, then Manage Favorites
2. Tap Send Money to Any BDO Account or Send Money to Other Banks and Wallets
3. Choose the favorite receiver you would like to update, then tap Edit
4. Enter the new details, then tap Save
You will get an acknowledgement when the updated details are successfully saved to Favorites.

To delete a receiver from your Favorites, just follow these steps:

1. Once you're logged in, tap More, then Manage Favorites.
2. Tap Send Money to Any BDO Account or Send Money to Other Banks and Wallets.
3. Choose the favorite receiver you would like to permanently delete, then either:
     a. Swipe left on the chosen receiver, then tap X, or
     b. Tap the receiver, then Delete
4. Tap Delete to confirm the deletion of saved Favorite.

Yes, you may still cancel scheduled transactions at least one day before the scheduled payment, but you need to create a new scheduled transaction with the updated details.

Currently, you can only Send Money between same currency accounts (PHP to PHP and USD to USD).

Here are the daily transaction limits for Send Money:

1. To own BDO Account - Up to your available balance
2. To another person's BDO Account - ₱200,000
3. To other local banks and mobile wallets via InstaPay - ₱50,000*

Your transaction is still being processed. You will receive an in-app notification to confirm that your transaction is either successful or unsuccessful. To get updates on the status of your transaction, make sure to enable push notifications for Transaction Status in the BDO Online app.

You can Send Money to your own BDO accounts, other BDO accounts as well as other banks and mobile wallets.

Yes, there is a transaction fee of PHP 10.00 for every Send Money to other banks or wallets.

There are several convenient options to Send Money to other people:

To Send Money to your Own account:
1. Tap Send Money from quick links or from the Pay & Request menu.
2. Choose Own Account.
3. Select which from your accounts to send to and receive from.
4. Enter the amount to be sent.
5. Review the details, then tap Confirm. Then, confirm your transaction using your biometrics or 6-digit PIN.

To Send Money to Any BDO Account:
1. Tap Send Money from quick links or from the Pay & Request menu.
2. Choose Any BDO Account.
3. Enter your recipient's BDO account number, or scan or upload the recipient's QR code and then select your source account.
4. Enter the amount to be sent.
5. Review the details, then tap Confirm. Then, confirm your transaction using your biometrics or 6-digit PIN.

To Send Money to Other Banks and Wallets (via InstaPay)
1. Tap Send Money from quick links or from the Pay & Request menu
2. Choose Other Bank or Wallet
3. Select the bank, then enter your recipient's account name and number, or scan or upload the recipient's QR code. Select your source account.
4. Enter the amount to be sent
5. Review the details, then tap Confirm. Then, confirm your transaction using your biometrics or 6-digit PIN.

To Send Money to a BDO Pay Contact
1. Tap Send Money from quick links or from the Pay & Request menu.
2. Choose BDO Pay Contact.
3. Enter the recipient’s mobile number and the amount to be sent. Select your source account.
4. Review the details, then tap Confirm. Then, confirm your transaction using your biometrics or 6-digit PIN.

There may be two possible reasons why your transaction failed.
Here’s what you can do:

1. Your receiver hasn’t updated their BDO Pay app yet - you can Send Money via account number instead
2. Your receiver doesn’t have a Savings or Checking account linked to their BDO Pay app – ask them for another account you can send to

If you have a BDO Savings Account, Checking Account, or BDO Pay Account, you can send up to PHP 50,000 via InstaPay (inclusive of fees), and another PHP 200,000 to other BDO accounts daily.

No, there is no need to enroll accounts prior to sending money.

InstaPay is the service that allows BDO Pay app users to Send Money to other banks and mobile wallets in real time.

Your receiver should get your Send Money via InstaPay immediately after you send it.

Yes, as long as you’ve already successfully signed up for BDO Pay, you can use the app to Send Money, even when you’re abroad.

You can only Send Money to a BDO Savings or Checking Account.

If the person you're sending money to does not have a BDO Savings or Checking Account linked to their BDO Pay Account, the transaction will not push through and you’ll get the following notification in your app: “This mobile number is not yet linked to a BDO account.”

You can Send Money from a BDO Pay Account or any BDO Savings or Checking Account. Credit Cards cannot be used as the source account for Send Money transactions.

Send Money success screens will show you details who you sent money to depending on the type of Send Money transaction made:

to Own Account: account nickname, masked account number
to any BDO Account: account number
to Other Bank or Wallet: name, name of bank or e-wallet, account number
to a BDO Pay Contact: name, mobile number

After every successful Send Money transaction, you’ll see a success screen that includes the last four digits and the account nickname of the account you sent from.

No, you can save them as a Favorite! At the success screen of your Send Money transaction, simply tap Favorite to save them as one of your Favorites.

You can also add them manually by:
1. Tap More
2. At the Manage Favorites section, select whether the receiver your sending money to is another BDO account, a BDO Pay contact, or from other bank or wallet
3. Tap Add a Favorite or the plus sign at the upper right of the screen
4. Fill in the details then tap Save

If you want to update a Send Money Favorite, follow these steps:

1. Tap More
2. At the Manage Favorites section, select whether the receiver your sending money to is another BDO account, a BDO Pay contact, or from other bank or wallet
3. Select your favorite
4. Tap the pencil icon at the upper right of the screen
5. Update the details, then tap Save

If you want to delete a Send Money Favorite, follow these steps:

1. Tap More
2. At the Manage Favorites section, select whether the receiver your sending money to is another BDO account, a BDO Pay contact, or from other bank or wallet
3. Select your favorite
4. Tap the trash bin icon at the upper right of the screen
5. Tap OK to confirm deletion

There are several possible reasons why an InstaPay transaction fails.
Here are the most common reasons and what you can do about it:

An acknowledgement screen and an email notification will be sent to you.

Remittances will be delivered directly to your beneficiary's delivery address. To Send Money Door-to-Door, just follow these steps:

1. Tap Send Money > tap Door-to-Door
2. Select Door To Door for Settlement Type
3. Select Door-To-Door Cash Delivery for Transaction Type
4. Enter required details, then tap Continue

An acknowledgement screen and an email notification will be sent to you.
There is a transaction fee of 200 pesos. The cut-off time for this service is 10:00 AM. For transactions performed on or before 10:00 AM availability of funds are as follows:

NCR: 1 to 2 days
Provincial: 3 to 6 days

On cases when the beneficiary is not available when door-to-door remittance was delivered, the remittance will be cancelled and credited back net of the service charges within 1 to 2 banking days.

Just follow these steps to Send Money using your account number:

1. Tap Send Money > To Another Local Bank
2. Fill out the required details, then tap Continue
3. Review your details, then tap Confirm 

There is a transaction fee of 100 pesos for non-InstaPay Banks. For banks registered on InstaPay (these will have "via InstaPay" labels in their names), the transaction fee is 25 pesos.

For non-InstaPay transactions received on or before 2:00 PM will be credited to the account on the same banking day. If after 2:00 PM, the amount will be credited on the next banking day. If transaction was made on a weekend or holiday, the amount will be credited on the next banking day.

On cases when the transaction was rejected by the paying bank, the remittance will be cancelled and credited back net of the service charges within 2 to 3 banking days.

Just follow these steps to Send Money via QR:

1. Tap Send Money > Tap Via QR
2. Choose the transaction type:
     Import - import the QR code from your Photos or Gallery
     Scan - scan the QR code of the destination account
3. Fill out the required details, then tap Continue
4. Review your details, then tap Confirm

You may Send Money to own accounts or enrolled third party accounts.

Select Send Money > To Pre-enrolled BDO Account (previously Fund Transfer) > Send Money to Pre-enrolled BDO Account.

Fill out the form and submit. An acknowledgement page and an email notification will be sent to you.
For transfers to another person’s account, the daily transaction limit is PHP 1,000,000 for Peso Transfers and USD 20,000 for US Dollar Transfers.

You will then be required to enter a One Time Password (OTP) to complete the transaction.

The amount will be credited real-time and this is free of charge.
The daily limit is P10,000.00 or 10 transactions, whichever comes first.

A Contact is either a mobile number or an email address linked to an account number. Instead of inputting the destination account number when sending money, you will input the recipient's mobile number or email address.

The amount will be credited real-time and this is free of charge.
The daily limit is 10,000 pesos or 10 transactions, whichever comes first.

To enroll or nominate a Contact, select: Send Money > To Contact (via Email or Mobile) > Link/Unlink Contacts.

If you select your mobile number as your Contact, you will be asked to enter a One Time Password (OTP) to complete your enrollment.
If you select your email address, you will be asked to input an approval code sent to your email to complete your enrollment.

You can immediately receive money via Contact after enrollment.

To Send Money to Contact, select:

Send Money > To Contact (via Email or Mobile) > Send Money

Then input the mobile number or email address of your beneficiary. You will then be required to enter a One Time Password (OTP) to complete the transaction.

The amount will be credited real-time and this is free of charge. The daily limit is 10,000 pesos or 10 transactions, whichever comes first.

One online account can have up to a maximum of 3 Contacts: mobile number, email address, and alternate email address. Note that if you did not register an alternate email address in your online banking, you can have up to a maximum of 2 Contacts.

To Send Money via Cash Pick Up, Select Cash Pick Up at Any BDO Branch/ Partner. Then input the required Sender and Receiver information.

You will then be required to enter a One-Time Password (OTP) to complete the transaction. Kindly provide the Reference Number to your beneficiary.

You can only send money to a Philippine bank. Input the required Sender and Receiver information including your beneficiary's account number and bank. Then select the bank code listed in the drop down menu for "Other Bank Code/Name". You will then be required to enter a One Time Password (OTP) to complete the transaction.

There is a transaction fee of 100 pesos for non-InstaPay Banks. For banks registered on InstaPay (these will have "via InstaPay" labels in their names), the transaction fee is 25 pesos.

For non-InstaPay transactions received on or before 2:00 PM will be credited to the account on the same banking day. If after 2:00 PM, the amount will be credited on the next banking day. If transaction was made on a weekend or holiday, the amount will be credited on the next banking day.

Wire Transfer allows you to transfer funds from your US Dollar accounts to accounts in other local and foreign banks in any currency. Select Send Money Via Wire Transfer then Send Money.

If you do not have a saved template, click on "Proceed without a template".
You will need to enter your remitter and beneficiary bank details. 
 
There is a transaction charge of 10 USD plus other fees that the beneficiary bank may require. There is an additional 25 USD charge for foreign bank if you select 'On-Us' in the Charge Type Field. The cut-off time for this transaction is 12 noon.
