Account Enrollment

How can I register for BDO Online Banking?

1) Go to www.bdo.com.ph.

2) Click on Online Banking Log-in and select “Enroll Now”

3) Complete the Online Enrollment Form, then click Submit

Check the Internet Banking box and take note of your ATM Activation Code in the acknowledgment page.

The code will be used to activate your Internet Banking account using your BDO ATM Debit Card.

4) Activate your account at any BDO ATM within 45 days

5) In the ATM, press “Other Services”

6) Select “Activate Electronic Banking”

7) Enter the ATM Activation Code, then press “Confirm”

8) Choose receipt option

9) Enter your PIN

10) Get the transaction receipt

11) Access your BDO Online Banking account 24 hours from ATM activation

 
Who is qualified to open a BDO Securities account?

Any person at least 18 years old and with BDO Online Banking account can apply for a BDO Securities Trading account.

 

In order for us to process your enrollment, kindly ensure that: 

 

You are not a minor

You are not applying under a Sole Proprietorship account 

You have indicated a valid existing BDO Account

You do not have multiple user IDs enrolled in BDO Online Banking

 
Is there a minimum required balance to maintain my BDO Securities account?

No, there is no maintaining balance needed.

 

A BDO Securities account without any cash flows (either deposits or withdrawals) for two (2) years will be placed in the inactive list. You can prevent account dormancy by making either a deposit or withdrawal on your account at least once every two (2) years.

 
How will I know if my application was approved and I’m now ready to trade?

You will receive a confirmation email if your BDO Securities online account application has been approved.

 

Upon receipt of an account approval sent to your email, you may start funding your BDO Securities settlement account simply use the “Fund Account” option in the  BDO Securities Home Page. 

 

Activation and trading with the BDO Securities platform will be available on the next business day.

What username and password should I use to access my BDO Securities online trading account?

Use your BDO Online Banking username and password to log in to BDO Securities online trading and access your account.

What requirements do I have to comply with to ensure my enrollment gets approved?

In order for us to process your BDO Securities online trading account enrollment kindly ensure that the following are met:

 

You are not a minor

You are not applying under a Sole Proprietorship account

Is the use of the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App free?

Use of the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App requires the device to be connected to the internet either via free or paid WIFI or data plan. Use of the BDO Securities App requires the device to be connected to the internet either via free or paid WIFI or data plan.

What type of mobile devices can I use to access the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App?

This will be available for iOS and Android smart phones and tablets.

How can I be sure that the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App I intend to download is the official version of BDO?

To ensure that you are downloading the authentic application, the developer’s name appearing under the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App should be BDO Unibank, Inc. Any other name to the contrary is not an authorized version.

Can I download the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App multiple times using the same device?

No. The BDO Securities App may be downloaded only once using the same device. It is however possible to reinstall an uninstalled BDO Nomura app.

Do I need to uninstall the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App in case I need to download an updated version or will it just update the current version?

No need to uninstall the original downloaded app. However, the app will prompt a message display update, and only upon confirmation will the system update push through.

What transactions can I perform using the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App?

Investing has never been easier. Through the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App you will be able to:

• Monitor listed company stocks on the Philippine Stock Exchange through your mobile phone

 

Additional functions that you can perform are:

Can the downloaded BDO Securities Mobile Trading App accommodate multiple users?

Yes, the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App can accept multiple users in one device. A user needs to log in using his / her User ID, Password and OTP.

What User ID and Password do I use for the BDO Securities Mobile Trading App?

The User ID and Password you are currently using for BDO Online Banking will also be the same credentials to be used to log in to the BDO Securities App.

Can I use my login credentials to access the mobile trading platform on multiple devices?

Yes, your User ID can be used among several devices which have a downloaded BDO Securities Mobile Trading App, but please take note that only one device can accommodate your User ID at a time. This means that your existing log in will be dropped if you try to access your account on another device.

Are BDO Securities Mobile Trading App financial transactions such as Cash Deposit and Withdrawal processed real-time?

Yes, similar to financial transactions performed using the BDO Securities platform, transactions such as Cash Deposit and Withdrawal are done real-time. Please take note of the clearing rule (Transaction +3 trading days) if you are trying to withdraw proceeds from your selling transactions.

What do I do if I forgot my User ID?

To better protect your BDO Online Banking account, forgotten user IDs may no longer be retrieved. Please call BDO Customer Contact Center at 8631-8000, for further assistance.

What do I do if I forgot my password or my User ID gets locked?

For BDO Online Banking User IDs with locked status, you may unlock by resetting your password via self-service.

 

To reset your Online Banking account, go to www.bdo.com.ph and click on:

Online Banking Login > BDO Online Banking > Forgot Your Password?

 

You will be asked to input your user ID. If enrolled with an ATM Card or a Checking/Savings Account, you will be asked to input a One-Time Password (OTP) plus the last 4 digits of any enrolled ATM card or Checking/Savings account. 

 

After providing the correct information, you will be prompted to nominate your own password.

If enrolled with a credit card only, you will be asked to input a One-Time Password (OTP). Then, you will be prompted to nominate your own password.

 

 

Fees and Charges

Upliftment Fees

An upliftment fee of Php 250.00 will be charged per certificate and an additional Php 200.00 courier fee for provincial mailing address. Fees will be debited from your BDO Securities settlement account.

Do you have any monthly fee charges?

No, we do not charge any monthly fees.

Lodgement Fees

Your account will be charged a lodgement fee of Php 100.00/stock, plus Php 20.00 cancellation fee/certificate. Non-bank transfer offices will incur an additional 12% VAT. Your BDO Securities Settlement account will be debited for the Lodgement fees.

What fees does BDO Securities charge?

For BUY transactions:

 

a. Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines (SCCP) fee – 0.010% of the gross amount

b. Broker's commission - 0.25% of the gross amount

c. Value Added Tax (VAT) – 12% of the broker's commission

 

For SELL transactions:

a. Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines (SCCP) fee – 0.010% of the gross amount

b. Broker's commission - 0.25% of the gross amount

c. Value Added Tax (VAT) – 12% of the broker's commission

d. Sales Tax - 0.60% of the gross selling amount

 

Minimum Commission charge is Php 20.00 or 0.25% of trade value, whichever is higher. This computation is not reflected during trading, but will be applied during the End of Day process.

 
Withholding tax rate on cash dividends

Cash dividends received from Domestic Corporations are subject to 10% withholding tax rate for Filipino citizens and resident aliens (foreigners residing in the Philippines). 

 

Non-resident aliens or foreign clients not residing in the Philippines may be subjected to a higher withholding tax rates depending on Tax Treaties existing between his/her country of residence and the Philippines.

 

Cash dividends received from non-domestic corporations like Sunlife and Manulife are subject to 15% withholding rate for all clients.

 

 

Step-by-Step Guide to Online Securities Transactions

How do I unlock my BDO Securities Trading Account?

The same login credentials are used to access both your BDO Securities Online Account and BDO Personal Online Banking account. 

 

To unlock your BDO Securities Trading Account: Go to https://online.bdo.com.ph/sso and click on "Forgot Password" 

 

 
How do I open a BDO Securities Online Trading account?

1. Go to www.bdo.com.ph/securities and click "Open an Account"

2. Log in using your BDO Online Baking username and password, and type in the OTP received via SMS or OTP Generator

3. Read and tick “I agree” on the Terms & Conditions and Instruction & Consent forms, and choose your BDO beneficiary account

4. Fill out the Investor Profile and Suitability Forms, and proceed by typing the captcha code. Click "Submit"

5. Review application and click “Confirm”

 

You will be redirected to a thank you page as proof of submission. Approval of enrollment will be sent via email.

 
How do I change my nominated Beneficiary Account?

1) Fill out  "Change in standing settlement instruction/account" part using the attached Account Amendment form.

 

2) Sign on the required space at the bottom part of the form, and send a clear scanned copy to bdosec-customercare@bdo.com.ph.                                                                                                                                                                

Kindly take note that processing of requests normally takes two to four days, and is dependent on the  confirmation from your branch of account. Your nominated Beneficiary Account will automatically be closed by your branch of account if the balance remains at zero for at least one (1) whole month.

 
How do I deposit funds to my BDO Securities Online Trading settlement account?

Log in to your online trading account and click "Cash Deposit" on your dashboard. Deposited amount is credited automatically to your BDO Securities settlement account.

How do I withdraw funds from my BDO Securities Online Trading account?

Log in to your online trading account and click Withdrawal in your dashboard. Withdrawn amount is credited automatically to your Beneficiary Account.  

 

Important note on T+3: While any cash in your account is immediately available for withdrawal, proceeds from the sale of stock have a 3-business day wait time due to settlement.  You will need to wait 3-business days after the trade for the money to be available to withdraw. For example, if you make a trade on Friday proceeds from the sale of the stock won't be available until Wednesday the following week; at which time you will be able to immediately withdraw your funds.

How do I transfer my stockholdings from my current broker to BDO Securities Securities, Inc.?

You need to fill out and submit a signed Securities Instruction form from your current broker and a copy of your two (2) valid IDs. Securities Instruction forms are available upon request. Please contact BDO Securities Sales Support or send your request to bdosec-customercare@bdo.com.ph.

 

A transfer fee of Php 84/stock/transfer will be charged, and this can be debited from your BDO Securities settlement account.

 
How do I transfer my stockholdings out of BDO Securities Securities, Inc.?

How can I withdraw/uplift my stockholdings from BDO Securities Corporation?

How do I access other BDO Investments in BDO Securities?

Clients can now access other investments in BDO Trust by clicking “Buy UITF“ in the BDO Securities dashboard. To access the Trust portal using the BDO Securities, perform the following steps:

 

a. Log in to your BDO Securities account

b. Click “Other BDO investments”

c. Read and agree on Trust Facility Agreement

d. Read and agree on the redirection notice and data privacy policy

e. You will be directed to the BDO Trust page and follow the steps to open an account

 
How do I view my Trust Portfolio in BDO Securities?

Click on My Portfolio widget in the landing page of BDO Securities and choose Trust.

What should I do if I get the error message "I am not eligible" to trade in REITs?

The error message means that you are not eligible to trade in REITs because you have not created a Name-on-Central-Depository (NoCD) account yet.

What if I forgot my BDO Personal Online Banking username or password?

For concerns such as resetting of BDO Personal Online Banking username or password, or update of email and mobile numbers, please go to this link:

Can I change my registered mobile number?

1. Log in to BDO Personal Online Banking, go to "Profile Maintenance" > "Customer Information" > "Update Customer Information".

2. Fill out the required information then click on "Update". Take note of your ATM activation code that can be found on the acknowledgment page, email and SMS confirmation.

3. Activate your request by going to any BDO ATM. Using your ATM Debit Card, select "Other Services" > "Activate Electronic Banking", and enter your ATM activation code. 

 

Note: Your information will be updated after 24 hours from ATM activation.

 

For local mobile numbers, acceptable formats are 639171234567 or 09181234567.

 

For international mobile numbers, please include the country code and area code (e.g. 85291512345).

 

Once your desired mobile number is already reflected on your Online Banking account, take a screenshot, attach it to your email request, and send it to bdosec-customercare@bdo.com.ph.

 
Can I update or correct personal information (such as Date of Birth or Permanent Address)?

Yes, the personal information maintained in your Branch of Account shall be followed.

 

If you wish to update your personal information, kindly proceed to your Branch of Account for updating of your personal records. 

 
What do I need to do when my account is already inactive/dormant?

Accounts without any cash flows (either deposits or withdrawals) for two (2) years will be placed in the inactive list. This will require you to visit your BDO branch of account to reactivate. If you have further questions, please call the BDO Hotline at +63 28631-8000.

 

For overseas customers who cannot physically go to the branch of account, please send an email to bdosec-customercare@bdo.com.ph.

 

You can prevent account dormancy by making either a deposit or withdrawal on your account at least once every two (2) years.

 

 

Trading-Related
How long does Lodgement process take to be completed?

The lodgement process normally take at least one week to be completed. In some instances, personal appearance may be required by the transfer office. Once cleared, your stockholdings will be reflected in your portfolio.

How long does the Upliftment process take to be completed?

The upliftment process normally takes at least a month to be completed. In some instances, personal appearance may be required by the transfer office. Once ready, the stock certificate/s will be delivered to your registered mailing address unless specified otherwise.

Where will my cash dividends or selling proceeds go?

Your cash dividends or selling proceeds will automatically be credited to your assigned BDO Securities Settlement Account.  

 

What is a BDO Securities Settlement account?  This is located in your BDO Securities account.  To view your dividend payments: Log in to your BDO Securities Portal > Click View Portfolio > Click Transaction History Tab > Under Transaction Type click Statement of Account and included your preferred date range.

 

*Note that your BDO Securities Settlement Account is different than your BDO Securities Beneficiary Account.  Your BDO Securities Beneficiary Account is your savings (current) account with BDO Unibank.  Your BDO Securities Settlement Account is located in your BDO Securities Portal.

Do I need to fund my BDO Securities Online Settlement account before I can start trading?

Yes, you need to fund your BDO Securities Settlement Account before you can start trading.

What are the PSE Trading Hours?

Trading hours are below on Mondays to Fridays, except on legal holidays.

Is there a limit to the amount I can trade?

Yes, there is a limit to the amount you can trade. For Buying orders, you are limited to the amount available in your account balance. For Selling orders, you can only sell stocks that are in your portfolio inventory.

Can I place an order through email?

No, orders cannot be placed using email.

Where can I view my order?

Log in to online trading and click on Order Book to check orders.

Can I revise or cancel an order?

Yes, orders can be revised or cancelled as long as they are not filled. If an order is partially filled, only the unfilled portion can be revised or cancelled.

Can I sell my stocks on the same day I bought them?

Yes, all stocks you bought are reflected in your portfolio and are ready for sale anytime.

Can I sell a stock and use its proceeds to buy another stock during the same day?

Yes, the proceeds of your selling transaction are automatically reflected in your buying power. You may use this to buy another stock anytime.

Can I place orders during off-hours?

Yes, you may enter orders during off-hours.

 

Orders made during Market Recess (12:00 N.N. - 1:30 P.M.) are still sent to the PSE and will be reflected as soon as the market resumes.  While orders made after market close are for posting as soon as the market opens the next trading day.

Do you offer margin trading?

Development of this feature is in progress.

Do you offer dollar denominated stocks?

Yes, we do.

Where can I see your recommended stocks?

Click on the Market Research icon in your dashboard when you are logged in on the trading page. A sample report is available in www.bdo.com.ph/securities under the Market Research menu.

Can I subscribe and redeem my trust investment using the BDO Securities portal?

All subscriptions and redemptions will have to be performed and executed in the trust portal of BDO Unibank.

Will I be automatically be logged out from the BDO Securities portal after moving to the BDO Trust portal?

No, you will not be logged out but you will see another page open in your browser as you get redirected to the BDO Trust portal.

How will my account be debited via the BDO Trust portal?

Your account will be debited following the usual debit process of BDO Trust.

Are there risks involved in online equities trading?

What are REITs?

A real estate investment trust (REIT) is a company created specifically for the holding of income-generating real estate. Often times the primary goal of a REIT investor is to generate income from the investment. REITs trade on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and you can purchase REITs through your BDO Securities account given you have fulfilled the proper requirements.

What are the requirements to invest in REITs?

1. You must have an account with BDO Securities.

2. You must have an NoCD account opened with BDO Securities

What is a Name-on-Central-Depository (NoCD)

Name-on-Central-Depository (NoCD) account is required by the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) to invest in certain accounts and investment products with BDO Securities such as:

 • Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)

 • Dollar Denominated Securities (DDS)

How to create a Name-on-Central-Depository (NoCD)

For Online Trading Account:

1. Download, review, and sign the following form: NoCD CONSENT FORM

2. Send your duly signed  NoCD Consent Form to Customer Support:  bdosec-customercare@bdo.com.ph

 

Note:

• Please submit your forms on or before cut off time at 12NN.

• All applications received after the cut-off time will be considered for next day's processing.

• Processing of applications will take 3 working days

 

For Traditional Broker-Assisted Trading Account

1. Download, review, and sign the following form: NoCD CONSENT FORM

2. Send via email the duly accomplished NoCD Consent Form to your Relationship Manager or to the Trader handling your account.

3. To know the status of your application, please call your BDO Securities Relationship Manager or the Trader handling your account.

Common Trading Terminologies
Online Stock Trading

Online stock trading allows you to buy and sell stocks online (using the internet) as opposed to the usual method of giving orders through telephone via an actual broker. This allows you to have real time access to the stock market.

NoCD Account

A Name on Central Depository or NoCD is a sub-account created on the client's behalf for Dollar Denominated Securities or Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in the NoCD facility of the Philippine Depository & Trust Corporation (PDTC) as part of the regulatory requirement.

 

In the case of BDO Securities, new NoCD accounts will be generated for its clients with dollar denominated accounts, as well as for REITs.

 
BDO Securities Beneficiary Account

A beneficiary account is the deposit account (Savings or Checking Account) where your sale of shares proceeds will be credited upon withdrawal.

Clear Fund

Cash that's free from any blocks or obligation against any settlement.

T+3 settlement

Transaction date plus three (3) trading days.

Static Threshold

The price limitation set by the Exchange based on 50% above or 30% below the last closing price.

Dynamic Threshold

The price limitation set by the Exchange based on 10% below or above the last traded price.

Ex-dividend Date

The date set by the Exchange starting from the time when the buyer is no longer entitled to the dividends. Currently set at three (3) business days before the record date.

Record Date

The date when stockholders must officially own shares in order to be entitled to any shareholders rights or dividends.

Failed Trade

A securities transaction that does not settle on the contractual settlement date. Also known as failed transaction.

Floor Price

The lowest selling price set to not more than 30% below the last closing price.  Also known as floor range.

* The low static price and floor price is now 30% below the closing price that was implemented by PSE (in 2020) the high static price remains at 50%.

Trading Band

The allowable price range for regular buy or sell orders - from the highest buying price (ceiling) and the lowest selling price (floor) on a particular day.

Trading Halt

The temporary stoppage or suspension of trading of a listed security, or suspension of trading in the Exchange.

What is the new Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) three-phased circuit breaker system?

The circuit breaker is automatically triggered when the benchmark index, PSEi, declines by at least 10% resulting in a 15-minute trading halt of the entire market. For more details, visit www.edge.pse.com.ph.

BDO Securities Settlement Account

A BDO Securities settlement account is an exclusive deposit account for your BDO Securities transactions that will be:

 

Debited for all your bought equities, along with other fees and charges

Credited for all your sales proceeds, cash dividends, and other credit balances

 
Board Lot

Any amount of shares wholly divisible by a minimum board lot is considered board lot.

 

Odd Lot

Any amount of shares not wholly divisible by a minimum board lot is considered an odd lot. (e.g. 1 share of BDO Unibank is an odd lot while 10 shares is board lot given the price of Php 132.00 per share)

Types of Order Validity

The following validity types will be made available:

Day Order (Day) - Orders that remain valid until end of Trading day.

Good Till Cancelled (GTC) - Orders that will remain valid until cancelled by the user or until it reaches the set expiration date of the instrument.

Good Till Date (GTD) - Orders that remain valid until the date specified when the order is entered.

Fill-and-Kill Order (FAK) - Referred as "Execute-and-Eliminate Orders". Any remaining unexecuted portion of a FAK order is eliminated.

 
Limit Order
