Updating of Client Suitability Assessment Frequently Asked Questions
Â
What is a Client Suitability Assessment (CSA)? Â
CSAÂ is a questionnaire used to evaluate your investment profile. It gathers information about your:
Â
1. Financial situation
2. Investment objectives
3. Investment knowledge and experience
4. Risk tolerance
5. Investment time horizonÂ
Â
This helps determine which investment products or securities may be appropriate or suitable for you.
Â
Why do I need to update my CSA? Â
Updating your CSA is a regulatory requirement that ensures the investments or securities you trade remain aligned with your financial situation, investment objectives, and risk tolerance
Â
When will the system require me to update my CSA, and what should I do when prompted? Â
The system automatically triggers CSA updates periodically based on your risk profile. When you login and are prompted to update your CSA, please follow these steps:
Â
1. Confirm your agreement to the Terms and Conditions
2. Go to Investor Profile.
3. Review your current Customer Account Information, including your CSA details.
4. Click Update and complete the questionnaire.
5. Review your responses and click Submit.
Â
You will receive an email confirmation along with your updated Online Trade Application Form, which includes your Individual Risk Profile (IRP) and Account Risk Profile (ARP).
Â
Can I update my CSA using the BDO Securities Mobile App?Â
CSA updates can only be completed through the BDO Securities website. If the system triggers a CSA update and it is not yet completed, access to your account via the mobile app will be temporarily restricted. To regain access, log in to your account through the website and complete the CSA update. Once completed, you can continue using the mobile app as usual.
Â
I just updated my Investor Profile, but the system keeps prompting me to update it again. What should I do?
If you experience this looping prompt after updating your Investor Profile, it may be due to your browser storing outdated data. Try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache, then log in again to allow the updated information to load properly.

You will continue to have access to all securities available in your trading account. Your CSA’s resulting risk classification is meant for your protection, helping guide you toward investment products suitable for your risk profile. It does not restrict access to any available securities.
