BDO, SM conclude Pamaskong Handog 2025 event in Laoag

Abot kamay ang pangarap! BDO and SM spread holiday cheer and surprises for overseas Filipinos and their families during the 14th Pamaskong Handog event at SM City Laoag.

BDO Unibank, Inc. (BDO), together with SM Supermalls (SM), successfully concluded the second and final Pamaskong Handog 2025 celebration last December 13 at SM City Laoag.

Now on its 14th year, Pamaskong Handog continues to honor and celebrate overseas Filipinos (OFs)—recognizing their sacrifices, contributions, and unwavering love for their families and country.

The final leg in Laoag brought holiday cheer, entertainment, and heartfelt stories to hundreds of OF families, while also highlighting digital tools that make financial management easier for Filipinos working abroad—especially BDO Pay.

BDO Pay: Secure, Convenient, and Smarter Way for OFs to Save on Fees

One of the key BDO services showcased during the event was how BDO Pay helps OFs manage their finances more efficiently and affordably.

“BDO Pay gives our OFs an easier, more secure and cost-saving way to support their families in the Philippines,” said David Michael P. Khodr, BDO vice president and head of Consumer Banking Group-Digital Acquisition. “With just one remittance to their Kabayan Savings account, succeeding Send Money to BDO accounts and Pay Bills transactions are already free.”

BDO Senior Vice President and Head of Remittance Genie T. Gloria also highlighted one of the key differences of BDO Pay from other mobile wallets.

“Because BDO Pay is linked to your interest-bearing BDO account, the funds are not only secured but also growing over time.”

Babylyn: A Mother’s Strength in Singapore

The event also spotlighted the story of Babylyn Manuel, a 36-year-old OF who is currently working as a domestic helper in Singapore.

As a single mother, who has been working abroad for nearly a decade—her only wish is to come home to celebrate Christmas with her two children—a wish BDO and SM fulfilled during the event.

Her reunion with her children drew cheers and emotional reactions as her story resonated with many in the audience, reflecting the resilience of countless OF families who continue to persevere despite distance and difficulties for their families.

A Meaningful Finale in Laoag

The Laoag event featured live performances from Piolo Pascual, Small Laude, Donita Nose, MC & Lassy, and other special guests. BDO remittance partners and other Bank business units also participated to showcase their services designed to help OFs not only in their day-to-day needs, but also in reaching their dreams.

SM Supermalls executives likewise reaffirmed their support for initiatives that engage OF families nationwide.

“SM has always been a home for Filipino families, and we are honored to celebrate once again with our OFs through Pamaskong Handog,” said Rona Vida B. Correa, regional operations head of SM Supermalls. “Together with BDO, we want every OF to feel valued and welcome at SM.”

With Every Dream and Every Homecoming—BDO and SM are Here

“Pamaskong Handog is our way of saying thank you to OFs,” said Gloria. “And through services like BDO Pay, we hope to make their financial journey easier and more rewarding.”

Gloria said the Bank will continue to strengthen its services for OF communities throughout the year under its Alagang Kabayan commitment.

As the curtain closed on Pamaskong Handog 2025, BDO and SM reaffirmed their dedication to supporting OF families—whether through meaningful celebrations or convenient financial solutions.

Through BDO Pay, OFs can continue supporting their loved ones with greater ease, safety, and savings—all year round.
