Ms. Janet B. Bagnes, is First Vice President and Head of Subsidiaries Accounting at BDO Unibank, Inc. She also holds the position of Treasurer at Averon Holdings Corporation. Her previous experience includes serving as Division Head of Subsidiaries Accounting at EPCI Bank and Head of Information Planning & Special Studies at the same institution. She has also served as Treasurer at PCIB Securities, Inc. Ms. Bagnes began her career as an auditor with SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. She is a certified public accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy, cum laude, from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. With over 30 years of experience in banking and accounting, Ms. Bagnes brings extensive expertise and knowledge to her roles. 

Atty. Elmer B. Serrano is the Corporate Secretary of BDO Life Assurance Company, Inc. Mr. Serrano is a practicing lawyer specializing in corporate law, banking and finance and securities law. He is the founder and Managing Partner of the law firm SERRANO LAW. Mr. Serrano has been awarded “Asia Best Lawyer” in Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisition and Capital Markets by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) consistently since 2019 and “Leading Lawyer-Highly Regarded” by IFLR 1000. Mr. Serrano has also been inducted to the Legal 500’s “Hall of Fame” as among the lawyers who received constant praise from clients for continued excellence. He is also the Corporate Information Officer of BDO Unibank, Inc. and Corporate Secretary of BDO’s subsidiaries and affiliates. Mr. Serrano also sits as a director of several public companies. He is Independent Director of Philippine Telegraph & Telephone Corporation and Benguet Corporation, and director of EEl Corporation, DFNN, Inc. and 2GO Group, Inc.

Mr. Serrano is counsel to prominent associations in the financial industry, Bankers Association of the Philippines, the Philippine Payments Management, Inc. and the PDS Group of Companies. 

Mr. Serrano is a Certified Associate Treasury Professional and was among the top graduates of the Trust Institute of the Philippines in 2001. Mr. Serrano holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University and a BS Legal Management degree from the same university.

Atty. Ace Devino A. Custodio currently serves as Assistant Corporate Secretary and Head of Legal and Compliance of BDO Life Assurance Company, Inc. 

Prior to joining BDO Life, he held senior leadership roles at AIA Philippines Life and General Insurance Company, Inc. (AIA Philippines) and BPI AIA Life Assurance Corporation, where he served as Vice President and Corporate Secretarial Principal. He also acted as Corporate Secretary for several AIA subsidiaries, contributing to their legal, corporate governance and regulatory compliance requirements. 

Atty. Custodio previously served as an Independent Director of PCCI Finance Corporation from 2012 to 2022. He was also Head of Legal, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary of the Philippine Commercial Capital, Inc. (PCCI) Group of Companies from 2011 to 2012. Earlier in his career, he was a Junior Associate at Jimenez, Gonzales, Bello, Valdez, Caluya & Fernandez Law Offices (JG Law). 

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Santo Tomas, and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in May 2005. 

Atty. Custodio is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and a graduate of the Trust Operations and Investment Management Program of the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines (TIFP).
