As a parent, you work hard to give your kids a bright future. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing them recognize the value of saving money. The earlier they form the habit of saving, the sooner they’ll be wiser with their finances in the future.

The BDO Junior Savers Account is specially designed for children 12 years and below. With an initial deposit of Php100, you can open an account and start growing interest. It also offers the following:


Receive a passbook

Kids below 12 years old will get a passbook to monitor their savings for as low as Php100 and start earning interest upon reaching a Php 2,000.00 deposit balance.

Get a BDO EMV Debit Card

Children between 7 to 12 years old may request for a personalized BDO EMV Debit Card upon reaching a deposit balance of Php 2.000.00.

Transfer money with ease

BDO gives you the option to help your child save. Through Easy Saver or your online banking account, you can transfer money from your existing BDO accounts to your child’s Junior Savers Account.



Bring original copies of the documents.

A.    Child - any of the following:

  • Birth Certificate issued by Local Civil Registry or Philippine Statistics Authority
  • School ID signed by the principal/school head
  • Passport

B.    Parent/Legal Guardian

  • Two (2) valid government IDs 
  • Adoption documents - applicable if the account will be opened by the Adoptive Parent
  • Guardianship documents - applicable if the account will be opened by the Legal Guardian

*Child under 7 years old - Account must be under the name of the parent in trust for the child. Submit the documents of both parent and child.

*Child 7-12 years old -  Account may be under the name of the parent or the child. If under the child's name, may submit only the document of the child.

IDs must be original and within their period of validity.

In adherence to the requirements of the Anti Money Laundering Council, BDO reserves the right to require the submission of additional document/s it may deem necessary.

Minimum Balance to Earn Interest Php 2,000.00
Gross Interest Rate Per Annum  0.125%

Account Closure (2) Php 300.00
Falling Below Minimum Balance (3) Php 300.00
Account Dormancy(4) Php 30.00 (4)
Withholding Tax for Interest Earned 20%

(2) Account Closure Fee will be collected if account is closed within 30 days from account opening.
(3) Falling Below Minimum Balance Fee will be collected if account falls below the required minimum MADB for two consecutive months.
(4) Account Dormancy Fee will be collected if account is dormant and falls below the minimum MADB.

A savings account is dormant if it has no client-initiated activity for two (2) years.

Collection of the above fees will start five (5) years after the last client-initiated activity (e.g. deposit, withdrawal, etc.) date.

The revised collection and dormancy fee is effective April 25, 2017.
