3-Step guide to open IRA

<Step 1>

Prepare documentary requirements to open International Remittance Account.

3 Requirements:

  1. 2 Valid ID's:
    • Passport
    • Any of the following IDs:
      • Korean National ID
      • List of government Issued IDs
      • Company ID
  2. Initial Deposit
    • USD100
    • PHP 100
  3. Two (2) 1x1 pictures
  • Please refer to the list of government IDs under info section

<Step 2>

Visit any designated BDO branch* with prepared documents.

  1. Submit all the requirements prepared at Step 1
  2. Fill up the forms in BDO branch
    • Customer Information Record
    • Signature Card
    • Terms & Conditions
    • BDO ATM Debit Card Application Form

<Step 3>

Claim Passbook and ATM card from the branch.

Info:

  1. List of government issued IDs:
    • Alien Certificate of Registration
    • AEP
    • Philippine Driver's License
  2. Valid IDs for students:
    • Local School ID
    • Special Study Permit

 

3-Step guide to remit from Korea to the Philippines

<Step 1>

Beneficiary in the Philippines: Open an IRA (International Remit Account) in any designated BDO branch in the Philippines.

 

<Step 2>

Remitter in Korea: Visit any Kookmin Bank or Hana Bank in Korea for your remittance.

Submit Requirements for the Initial Transaction.

  1. Requirements
    • Any of the following IDs:
      Korean National ID, Driver's License or Passport
  2. For Remittance to a Benificiary who is a student:
    • Supporting documents about the student
      • photocopy of student passport
      • any supporting document which proves that the student is/will be studying at a school in the Philippines

<Step 3>

Beneficiary in the Philippines: Beneficiary may claim the remittance through any BDO branch and over 14,000 ATMs nationwide.

 

Info:

  1. Specify the Foreign Exchange Bank
    • To remit abroad for over USD1,000, you should visit a bank branch and bring an ID card such as a passport or driving license to designate the bank as your primary foreign exchange transaction bank.
    • You can remit up to USD 50,000 a year overseas without submitting underlying documents on the source of the funds.
  2. Send your remittance through any of the following:
    • Branch Counter
    • ATM
    • Internet Banking
