BDO gets SSS Top Employer Award for excellent employee care

 

2021 November – BDO Unibank was recognized by the state-owned pension fund with the Top Employer Award (under the large account category) in the first-ever virtual Balikat ng Bayan Awards 2021.

According to the SSS, Top Employer awardees have shown faithful compliance with the Social Security Law and a proven track record of regular contributions and loan payments.

Caring for employees. The Social Security System (SSS) recognized BDO Unibank with the Top Employer Award (under the large account category) for helping provide social security protection to its member-employees in the first-ever virtual Balikat ng Bayan Awards 2021.

The Balikat ng Bayan Awards salute the “valuable contributions of individuals and organizations in helping SSS deliver quality service and programs to its members here and abroad.” This year’s awarding ceremony served as the culminating activity of SSS’ 64th anniversary.

SSS President & CEO Aurora C. Ignacio said, “Through this Balikat ng Bayan Awards, we have shown [winning employers] how grateful we are for their significant contributions and strong partnership in achieving our goals and fulfilling our corporate mandate for the good of our members.”

Speaking on behalf of BDO’s more than 38,000 employees, BDO Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources Group, Evelyn Salagubang, thanked the state-owned pension fund for its swift pandemic response, particularly for providing financial aid through its COVID-19-EC Claim which had been a lifeline to employees and their families. She also noted SSS’ enhanced mobile app that enabled employees to check their personal accounts, enjoy their benefits, and file for salary and calamity loans.

“We care for the welfare of our employees. Thus, we ensure that they receive their due benefits, not only from our company, but also from the local government. BDO is a proud partner of SSS and we look forward to many more years of partnership,” noted Salagubang.
