Promo Mechanics

  1. The promo is open to all active principal and supplementary credit cardholders of Mastercard, Visa, JCB, UnionPay, Diners Club and American Express Cards issued by BDO, including BDO Virtual Cards.   Installment Card, Corporate Cards and Commercial Cards are excluded from the promo.

  2. The Promo Period is from July 1 to August 31, 2021 extended until September 15, 2021 as approved by DTI FTEB.

  3. To participate in the promo:

  1. The cardholder must enroll within the promo period using the Promo ID sent by BDO via Viber or SMS or email. Principal and supplementary cardholders must enroll separately using their individual Promo ID. Enrollment of a cardholder automatically enrolls all his/her qualified BDO credit card/s, including BDO Virtual Card under his Promo ID. Click here to enroll.

  2. The cardholder must use his/her qualified BDO credit card within the promo period for any of the following transactions and meet the spend requirement:

  1. Local retail transactions (straight or installment)

  2. Online or eCommerce purchases

  3. Foreign Currency purchases 

  4. Mail Order/Telephone Order (MOTO)

The cash back computation will be based on the actual Peso or Dollar value reflected on the Statement of Account.
USD exchange rate for USD spend is fixed at P50 = USD 1.

  1. The following transactions are not qualified for cash back:

  • Cash advances made via ATM or over-the-counter and cash in to load e wallets/prepaid cards such as PayMaya, Gcash, money transfers or any similar transactions.

  • Any type of Bills Payment such as Auto Charge, Charge-on-Demand, utility or recurring bills, loan payments and the like.

  • Transactions from casinos or from merchants engaged in betting or gambling.

  • Transactions from stock trading, foreign exchange trading, financial trading services, remittance, and the like.

  • Cash Installment and Balance Installment Programs such as Cash-It-Easy and Balance Transfer.

  • Any transaction used to register or redeem from other ongoing BDO credit card promos.

*BDO has the sole discretion in determining whether a transaction is classified under these exclusions. BDO is dependent on the merchant category classifications assigned by the acquiring bank of each merchant establishment to be able to identify the inclusion/exclusion of a transaction.



Earning and Crediting of Cash Back

  1. The maximum cash back is P5,000 for every qualified BDO credit card enrolled in the promo. Cash back earned from qualified BDO Virtual Card transactions form part of the total cash back of the card where it is linked.

  2. Awarding of cash back credits will follow the transaction date of the qualified spend. All cash back earned by the principal cardholder shall be posted on the principal cardholder’s account where the transaction was made. All cash back earned by the supplementary Card/ BDO Virtual Card shall be posted on the principal cardholder’s account where it is linked. Click here for sample computation.

  3. Cash back will be posted in Philippine Peso for transactions posted in Peso currency or in US Dollar for US Dollar-denominated BDO credit cards. Account (single and dual currency accounts) must be active and without past due obligation during the Promo Period until the awarding of cash back. Delinquent accounts will no longer be eligible for the promo.

  4. Cash back earned for this promo will be credited on or before October 21, 2021 with transaction description “Shop Anywhere Cash Back”. An SMS notification for the final cash back earned will be sent to the mobile number registered in BDO’s system on or before October 26, 2021.



General Terms and Conditions

  1. Cardholder’s contact information must be updated to continue receiving card promotions/advisories. In case cardholder did not receive the promo ID via Viber/SMS or email, cardholder may call the BDO Customer Contact Center at (02)86318000 to get his/her assigned promo ID.  BDO will not be responsible for non-receipt of Viber/SMS or email notification due to incorrect or outdated contact details.

  2. The “Shop Anywhere Cash Back” Promo cannot be used in conjunction with other ongoing promotional offers of BDO. Similarly, cardholders can no longer request for disenrollment from the promo. Transactions that were already used to redeem treats or rebate or points from other BDO promotions (e.g. SM 3-day Sale Rebate, Credit Card Activation Programs etc.), can no longer be used to avail of the promo and vice versa. If found to have multiple availments, BDO shall have the right to reverse the cash back amount credited to the Cardholder’s BDO Credit Card, at BDO's discretion.

  3. The Principal Cardholder must examine his/her statement of account for any errors related to the Shop Anywhere Cashback Promo. All questions and issues arising from the Promo will only be accepted not later than by December 21, 2021, after which the Promotion is considered conclusive.

  4. BDO reserves the right to reverse or adjust the cash back awarded to the principal and supplementary cardholder in the event that the qualifying transactions were disputed or cancelled at a later date, or if the transaction is found to be invalid or fraudulent, or a reversal of entry is made on any of the qualified transactions, or if there is erroneous posting of the cash back, or if the transaction was used to register or redeem from another ongoing BDO credit card promo.

  5. Splitting of a single transaction into several approvals for purposes of generating more cash back is prohibited. For multiple transactions generated from the same merchant, store or establishment made within the same day, only the first qualified transaction will be eligible for cash back per cardholder even if he/she has more than one (1) qualified BDO credit card. Remaining transactions will not be eligible.

  6. In case of dispute in respect of but not limited to the Cardholder's eligibility, coverage of dates, fulfillment, etc., BDO's decision shall prevail. All questions or disputes regarding the Cardholder's eligibility for the Promo or for any redemption shall be resolved by BDO with the concurrence of DTI.

  7. This Promo is subject to the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of BDO Credit Cards and American Express Cards.
