How to join




Promo Mechanics

  1. The promo is open to all active principal and supplementary BDO UnionPay Credit Cardholders.

  2. The Promo Period is from January 1 to 31, 2021.

  3. The Promo is open to local in-store/Call To Deliver transactions from any or across the following SM retail stores and supermarkets: The SM Store, Uniqlo, Ace Hardware, Watsons, SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket, Savemore, and Waltermart Supermarket.

  4. To participate in the promo:

    1. The Cardholder must enroll to the promo using the Promo ID sent by BDO through Viber message, SMS, or email until February 1, 2021.The Principal and Supplementary Cardholder must enroll to the promo separately for their respective cards, and ensure that accurate information is provided.

    2. The Cardholder must use his/her qualified BDO UnionPay Credit Card in any one or across participating SM retail stores and supermarkets for any of the following transactions:

      • In-store transactions (straight or installment)

      • Call to Deliver transactions (straight or installment)
        Availability of the Call to Deliver Service varies per store. Currently, UnionPay is only accepted for Call to Deliver payments made via POS. It is not accepted yet for payments made through the Shop SM website or mobile app.

    3. The Cardholder must meet the minimum spend requirement below:

  1. Promo Exclusions: The following transactions are NOT qualified for this promo:

    • Transactions that have been redeemed from other BDO promotions

    • Transactions made during the SM 3-Day Sale

  2. To meet the total spend required, the Principal Cardholder cannot combine his/her purchases with the Supplementary Cardholder, and vice-versa. It is the responsibility of the Cardholder to monitor his/her qualified spend.

  3. For installment purchases, the Principal/base Amount will be included in the computation of the total spend requirement.

  4. The maximum rebate that each Cardholder can earn is up to P5,000, for every BDO UnionPay Credit Card enrolled to the promo.

  5. The transaction/s included in this promo, cannot be used to redeem in any other ongoing BDO Credit Card Promo (e.g. Shop.Choose.Redeem, Other Rebate and Points Multiplier Promos, etc.) and is subject to the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of BDO Credit Cards.



Crediting of Rebate

  1. The Cardholder’s account must be active, and without any past due obligation from the start of the promo until the scheduled awarding of the rebate. For cards with dual currency, delinquency of one currency affects the other and will no longer be qualified for the promo.

  2. The rebate earned by the Principal and/or Supplementary cardholders will be credited on or before  March 8, 2021. The rebate/s will appear on the Principal Cardholder’s Statement of Account with the transaction description: “2021 UNIONPAY SHOPPING REBATE PROMO”.

  3. Qualified Cardholders who earned the rebate will be notified by BDO via SMS message on March 10, 2021. The Principal and Supplementary Cardholder will receive separate SMS notifications.

  4. The Principal or Supplementary Cardholders must ensure that their registered mobile number with BDO is updated and accurate. BDO will not be responsible for non-receipt of SMS notification due to incorrect or outdated contact details.



General Terms and Conditions

  1. Cardholders must examine their Statement of Account for any errors related to the Promo (e.g. rebate computation, non-awarding of rebate). All questions and issues arising from the promo will only be accepted, within sixty (60) calendar days from posting of the rebate or not later than May 8, 2021 after which the promotion is considered conclusive.

  2. Rebates awarded are non-transferable and nonconvertible to cash. However, it is treated as a credit or payment for purchases of any outstanding balance on the Card.

  3. BDO reserves the right to reverse or adjust the rebate previously posted if the qualifying spend is disputed or cancelled on a later date, or if the transaction is found to be invalid or fraudulent, or if there is erroneous posting of the rebate, or if the transaction was used to register or redeem from another on-going BDO Credit Card promo.

  4. In case of disputes related to this promotion, BDO’s decision shall prevail. All questions or disputes regarding the Cardholder’s eligibility for the Promotion or for any redemption shall be resolved by BDO with concurrence of DTI.
