Promo Mechanics

  1. The FREE luggage or backpack (“Promo”) will run from June 1 to August 31, 2020 (“Promo Period”).

  2. The Promo is open to Cardholders of Qualified Card:

    • Whose cards were issued from June 1 to August 31, 2020.

    • Whose accounts are active and current (i.e. no past due in both Peso and Dollar accounts) within the promo period and at the time of redemption

    • Who will receive the promo announcement and Promo ID through SMS, Viber and/or email*

    • Who will reach the required spend and redeem as specified in the table below:

  1. To qualify, Cardholder must use his/her Qualified Card within the Spend Period and have posted transactions as follows:

    • Retail purchases (local/international/online);

    • Installment purchases;

    • Minimum amount per transaction must be P3,000;

    • The cumulative qualified spend within the Promo Period must be at least P35,000;

    • For accounts enrolled in Dual Currency, purchases in USD will be converted to Peso at a fixed rate of P50:USD1;
      Transactions must be made using the card with ending number specified on the Viber/SMS or email announcement.

  2. Exclusions:

    1. Cash advances made via ATM or over-the-couner and cash in to load e-wallets/prepaid cards such as PayMaya, Gcash, etc.

    2. Purchases from gasoline / service stations;

    3. Any type of Bills Payment: Utility/Recurring Bills, Loan Payments, etc.;

    4. Transactions from Casino or from merchants engaged in gambling;

    5. Transactions from stock trading, forex trading, financial trading services, remittance and the like;

    6. BDO Internal Installment Programs such as Balance Transfer, EasyPay Cash and Cash-It-Easy;

  3. Purchases must come from one (1) Qualified Card only. A Principal Card is treated separately from the Supplementary Card. In computing for the total qualified Spend Amount, transactions of the Principal Card cannot be combined with the transactions of the Supplementary Card.


How to Redeem

  1. Fill-out the online form and submit within the Redemption Period. The following information must be provided:

    • Promo ID sent by BDO via SMS, Viber and/or email

    • Qualified Transaction Details (Transaction Date/Merchant Name/Transaction Amount)
      Transactions must be made using the card with ending number specified on the Viber/SMS or email announcement.

  2. Submission of incomplete/wrong Promo ID will not be processed.

  3. For successful redemptions, Cardholder will receive an SMS with Promo Code within 15 banking days from receipt of the online form. If no SMS is received, Cardholder must call BDO Customer Contact Center at (02) 86318000.

  4. To redeem the Freebie, Cardholder must visit any participating branch of The SM Store:

  1. Cardholder to present the Qualified Card, valid ID and Promo Code
  2. Representatives are not allowed. Card will be swiped and Promo Code will be keyed-in for validation using the promo redemption terminal. No additional charges will be incurred for redemption.
  3. Freebie must be claimed on the same day of Promo Code validation.


General Terms and Conditions

  1. All questions and issues arising from the promo will be accepted within sixty (60) calendar days from the end of redemption period or until May 15, 2021, after which the promotion is considered conclusive.

  2. Freebie is non-convertible to cash and not for resale.

  3. Freebie is covered by Kamiliant and High Sierra’s Product Warranty on manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials. Warranty does not cover repairs resulting from carrier damage, misuse or neglect of the product, normal wear and tear, or repairs beyond the warranty period.

  4. Double Redemption, Cancellation of qualified purchase and Fraudulent transaction/s.
    The Freebie cannot be redeemed in conjunction with other promotional offers of BDO.  A Cardholder’s purchase that has been used to redeem the Freebie may no longer be used to avail of another BDO Promo such as but not limited to (1) Shop. Choose. Redeem. (2) Rebate Promos at The SM Store and the like or vice versa. If found to have double/multiple redemptions, BDO reserves the right to chargeback the full cost of the Freebie to the corresponding account, at BDO’s discretion.

    Similarly, if the transaction is cancelled/reversed or found to be invalid or fraudulent at a later date, BDO will chargeback the Freebie credited to his/her Card or directly collect cost from the Cardholder.

  5. Corporate Cards are not eligible to participate in the promo.

  6. By participating in the Promo, Cardholder agrees to maintain his/her BDO credit card account updated (without incurring past due/delinquency) within the Promo Period and at the time of redemption. Cardholder further acknowledges that should he/she fail to comply with any of the Terms and Conditions and Mechanics of the Promo, he/she will not be eligible to redeem the Freebie.

  7. In case of dispute but not limited to the Cardholder's eligibility, coverage of dates and fulfillment, BDO's decision shall prevail. All questions or disputes regarding the Cardholder's eligibility for the Promotion or for any redemption shall be resolved by BDO with the concurrence of DTI.

  8. In case of any question about any of the provisions of this Promotion, the interpretation of BDO shall prevail, with the concurrence of DTI.

  9. Terms and conditions governing the issuance and use of BDO Credit Cards, reminders and other provisions contained in the card carrier, statement of account, charge slips, and other documents or instruments, which are made an integral part hereof by reference, shall likewise be resorted to in instances where they are applicable to this Promo.
