BDO was awarded by Moneygram International as Best Collaboration in
Brand Building in its 1st Asia Pacific Agent Conference held recently
at the Grand Hyatt Pudong Hotel, in Shanghai, China last September 26 & 27, 2007.
Cited for its efforts to help MoneyGram build the money transfer brand
in the Philippines, Genie T. Gloria, VP & Head of BDO Remittance Domestic
Operations, received the award on the Bank?s behalf. BDO is the only MoneyGram
agent in Asia to have received the marketing award, outperforming agents in Singapore,
Hong Kong, Australia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Mongolia, Korea and
Thailand.
A day after the awarding, BDO presented the co-branding initiatives done by
the bank in the last two (2) years to the participants of the conference.
MoneyGram acknowledges these efforts and considers it as best practice in
managing partnerships. Success of the strong relationship between MoneyGram and
BDO can be attributed to the ability of both institutions to seize every opportunity
in increasing its awareness in the Philippines. Harping on BDO?s distribution network,
the remittance payout channels have become a medium to promote Moneygram ? billboards
and directional signs inside SM malls, cross-promotional activities and event participation.
In addition, BDO?s linkages to industry associations and government agencies such as the
Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and POEA have paved the way for Moneygram to promote
their services for Filipinos who are about to leave the country.
Dubbed as "Jump on the Winning Track 2007", the two (2) day agent conference tackled
Moneygram?s business plan focusing on its global brand building initiative for 2008.
