Retail Treasury Bonds
The RTBs are treasury bonds for small investors who want to enjoy current market rates at par with investments that require a much higher minimum requirement. Minimum investment is just P5,000.00.
- Minimum investment is P5,000.00 (P5,000.00 denominations)
- Government Guaranty - It is a credit risk-free security guaranteed by the Republic
of the Philippines.
- Auto credit - All proceeds will be automatically credited to the client's BDO
account.
- Secondary trading - BDO Capital commits to provide a 2-way market for the
security to ensure liquidity at all times. Clients can buy or sell from any of the
BDO branches at the current market price.
- Potential use as collateral - The bonds can be used as collateral for loans with
BDO.
Computation:
Principal = (Face Value x Price / 100) + Accrued Interest
Accrued Interest = Face Value x Coupon Rate x Days Lapsed / 360 x 80%

- Issue Date - May 4, 2001
- Maturity Date - May 4, 2005
- Coupon Rate - The coupon rate is 14.25% subject to 20% withholding tax
- Interest is given every quarter (every May 4, August 4, November 4 and
February 4)
3 - Yr. RTB
- Issue Date - June 27, 2002
- Maturity Date - June 27, 2005
- Coupon Rate - The coupon rate is 10.75% subject to 20% withholding tax
- Interest is given every quarter (every March 27, June 27, September 27 &
December 27)
5 - Yr. RTB
- Issue Date - June 27, 2002
- Maturity Date - June 27, 2007
- Coupon Rate - The coupon rate is 12.375% subject to 20% withholding tax
- Interest is given every quarter (every March 27, June 27, September 27 &
December 27)
3 - Yr. RTB / 06
- Issue Date - July 1, 2003
- Maturity Date - July 1, 2006
- Coupon Rate - The coupon rate is 9.50% subject to 20% withholding tax
- Interest is given every quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1 & October 1)
5 - Yr. RTB / 08
- Issue Date - July 1, 2003
- Maturity Date - July 1, 2008
- Coupon Rate - The coupon rate is 10.375% subject to 20% withholding tax
- Interest is given every quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1 & October 1)

Treasury Bills
Investors who wish to place their hard-earned investible funds in low-risk,
short-term instruments can invest in Treasury Bills. With a minimum investment
of only P100,000.00, investors can enjoy all the benefits of the Tbills.
- Considered as a low risk investment since these are direct and unconditional
obligations by the Philippine government
- Minimum investment amount is P100,000.00 (increments of 1,000.00)
- Investment term follows original Treasury Bill tenors of 91-day, 182-day,
364-day, depending on the availability
- Interest income on the investment is subject to 20% final withholding tax
- Investment is evidenced by a Confirmation Notice
- BDO, as OTC broker, commits to source the best buy/sell price in the market for its clients.

Treasury Bonds
Treasury Bonds are for investors who are willing to place their money
in long-term, low-risk instruments. With a minimum investment of only
P100,000.00, they enjoy regular coupon interest payments. Plus, the effective
yield of the entire investment can also be increased when these interest
payments are reinvested in other interesting - earning instruments.
- Considered as risk free-investment since these are direct and unconditional
obligations by the Philippine government
- Minimum investment amount is P100,000.00 (increments of 1,000)
- Original investment term is from 2 years to 25 years, depending on availability
- Interest payment is semi-annual computed based on the coupon rate
- Interest income on the investment is subject to 20% final withholding
tax
- Investors are required to open a BDO savings or cheking account for
automatic crediting of the semi-annual coupon interest payments.
- Investment is evidenced by a Confirmation Notice.
