Accident and Health Insurance

1. Group Personal Accident Insurance - Usually provided as a benefit of the company/ employer to the employees and is therefore shouldered by them. Coverage amount is mostly based on salary or designation or position held. Death should be caused by accident whether it is job related or not.

2. Student Personal Accident - Designed for schools who would want to insure their enrolled students against accidents occurring inside or outside the school premises. Coverage is only minimal (average of P50,000) and premium payment is usually incorporated in the Miscellaneous fees of the school.

3. Group Medical Insurance - A reimbursement type of medical insurance coverage based on limits agreed upon between the company and the insurer. Limits may be based on position or illness subject to an aggregate limit per employee per policy year.

4. Health Maintenance Organization Insurance - A card type medical insurance that may be availed by a company for its employees based on agreed limits and package. Its difference from a Group Medical Insurance is that the member simply shows the card to an accredited hospital or clinic to avail of their services. Other expenses shouldered by an HMO company are the accredited doctor's fees, hospital confinement, medicines while confined etc. All benefits are subject to an agreed limit.
